Linking Emails to Tasks in Keeper

Linking emails to tasks in Keeper.

Updated yesterday

When you add a task from an email in Keeper, you’re not starting from scratch — you’re linking the email to the task. This means attachments, email content, and context stay connected, helping you work faster without duplicating effort.

✅ Clear "Add Task" Language

We’ve updated the interface to make it crystal clear that you’re linking an email to a task, not just creating a new one.

💬 One-Time Educational Message

The first time you click “Add Task” on an email, you’ll see a quick message explaining what’s happening behind the scenes:

  • The email is now linked to your task.

  • Attachments remain accessible via the linked email.

  • You don’t need to download and re-upload files.

After this, the modal won’t appear again.

📥 Linked Emails in the Task Modal

When creating a task from an email:

  • The linked email appears at the bottom of the task creation modal.

  • Clicking it opens the full email view, without leaving the task flow.

🔗 Linked Email Pill in Tasks

You’ll now see a visual “linked email” pill in:

  • The task itself (once created)

  • Any task view where that email connection is relevant

This makes it easier to reference the original email without digging through your inbox.

👀 What You Don’t Need to Worry About

  • You don’t need to manually re-attach files — Keeper keeps everything linked.

  • You won’t see the explanatory modal more than once — it's just there to guide new users.

  • You can always reference the original email from your task, anytime.
