Custom Branding (Whitelabel) Setup

Enabling Custom Branding

If you would like to custom brand the Client Portal, please set up your CNAME record and then reach out to us on Intercom (in-app chat in the bottom right-hand corner of Keeper).

CNAME Setup Instructions

To set up your Client Portal to work on your own domain, you need to add a CNAME record to your Domain Name Servers that points to Keeper's proxy server.

This allows a link like clients.mypracticename.com to host content that lives on Keeper's servers, which is what you need to do to set up the Client Portal.

To set this up:

  1. Go to wherever your DNS is hosted.

    1. Commonly, this is where you bought your domain (like GoDaddy), although it can also be where you host your website (like Wix)

    2. If you don't know where this is, you can use tools like Google Dig to tell you

  2. Add a CNAME record to your Domain Name Servers with the following configurations:

    1. Host/name (host name) = clients (you choose this)

    2. Data/value (points to) = small-water-8854.fly.dev (REQUIRED)

  3. Once this is configured, write into our chat with the generated URL so we can turn it on in your Keeper account!

    • This would be a URL like clients.mypracticename.com

    • If you do not see a URL generated on your screen send us what you put in for step 2a along with your website URL

Things to Know

  • The Host name field does not have to be clients

  • It can be anything you want, like portal, or questions

  • Clients is the most common choice for most Keeper practices

Customizing the Client Portal Branding

Once custom branding is enabled, you can customize the portal by doing the following:

  1. Click Practice Settings (⚙️ icon)

  2. Click Client Portal

  3. Click Branding

Last but not least, don't forget to add your Practice Email & Practice Phone Number!

Your Practice Phone Number

  • This number is a no-reply number

  • This number cannot be changed after it is selected

  • The number you choose is a new number issued to you through Keeper

    • It is not your current business phone number

  • This feature is currently only supported in the US and Canada


Upgrading to the new client portal

To upgrade to the new client portal (released on July 18, 2024), follow these steps:

  • Add your email to the upgraded portal beta signup.

  • Navigate to Practice Settings --> Client Portal --> Branding.

  • Select Version 2.0 in the drop-down.

  • Review the portal preview and make any desired changes to your portal branding.

  • Click Save branding.

  • Your changes will be live the next time your clients refresh their portal screens!
