Month-end close basics

How can I start a close for a prior period?

To start a new close period:

  1. Go to the Client List

  2. Find the company you are looking for

  3. Click The More Information Button (arrow in the circle to the left of the client's name)

  4. Click Add Previous Month End Close

  5. Choose the period you are working on to create a new month-end close


How can I see older closes or closes I have already completed?

To see older closes, find the client you are looking for in the Client List, then click the More Information Button, and choose the close you want to review.

How can I start a new close before the first of the following month?

To start a new month-end close before the first of the following month, click the More Information button for the client on the Client List, then click Start [next_month] Close.

Missing the 'next month' close button?

If you are not seeing the Start [next_month] Close button, check the client settings and see if the client question is set to quarterly.

How do I delete a close?

*Only Super Admins and Practice Admins can delete closes

To delete a close period:

  1. Go to the Client List

  2. Find the company you are looking for,

  3. Click the More Information Button (arrow in the circle to the left of the client's name)

  4. Scroll to the last column that is visible and click the red trashcan icon for the close period you wish to remove to delete the month-end close

How to delete a close file

Do tasks copy to new closes?

Yes - When you create a new close, regardless of what month that close corresponds to, the tasks in that close are copied from whatever the latest close is.

So if the latest close is October, tasks copy from October. If the latest close is September, tasks copy from September, etc.
