Practice Settings

Take a tour of all Practice Settings, accessible to admin users via the gear icon at the top right of the Keeper platform

All practice-wide settings are accessible (with Admin permissions) under Practice Settings, at the top right of the Keeper platform. Users will see a gear icon if they have Admin or Super Admin user permissions.

Practice Management

General tab

  • Edit your practice name

Logo tab

  • Add or change your practice's logo

Workflows tab

Close settings

  • Prevent standard users from creating new monthly closes

  • Enable the Account reconciliation time-stamped balance column

  • Enable close Preparer, Reviewer, and Manager roles

  • Override assignee labels (this allows you to rename Preparer, Reviewer, and Manager roles)

  • Client list done status highlight rules (control when the client's row turns green)

Tax return settings (only available with the Tax Suite add-on)

  • Show tax tracker (in the Client Portal)

  • Enable tax roles: Preparer, Reviewer, and Manager

  • Override assignee labels (rename tax Preparer, Reviewer, and Manager roles)

Global settings

  • Lock standard users (Task lock)

  • Auto-complete project (automatically move status to Done when all tasks are completed)

  • Shorten task descriptions

  • Default client list row count

  • Adjust sign-off permissions

Section Manager tab

  • Enable Client Details for all clients

Client details example

Custom sections

  • Set the default threshold for what "Due soon" means for Custom Tasks

  • Add, Edit, or Delete custom task sections

  • The General task section is not able to be deleted, but it can be renamed.

Close sections

  • Add, Edit, or Delete closing task sections

πŸ’‘ All sections that contain Keeper file review tasks are not able to be deleted or hidden, but they can be renamed. Sections include: Account Reconciliation, Transaction Review, Payee/Entity Review, and Final Review

Task sections (only accessible with the Tax Suite add-on)

  • Add, Edit, or Delete tax task sections

  • The Financial Review tax suite task section is not able to be deleted or hidden.

Files

  • File deletion lock (Prevent standard users from deleting files)

  • Permanent file deletion lock (Prevent standard users from permanently deleting files)

Statements & Reporting tab

  • Enable rounding (all financial statement values to the nearest whole dollar)

  • Show currency sign everywhere (disable to only see $ sign on Total rows)

  • Enable monochrome insights

  • Enable prepared on (shows on cover page of reports)

  • Enable prepared by (shows practice name on cover page of reports)

  • Enable right justified reports

  • Enable interactive financials in Client Portal

  • Change accent color (font color for all management reports)

Legal Disclaimers tab

  • Add a disclaimer to all client financials on

    • The cover page

    • All pages (as a footer)

  • Show cash/accrual basis distinctions on all pages (as a footer)

File Reviews tab

  • Enable 'Date asked' column in transaction questions

  • Set the default file review row count

Manage Users

Users tab

  • Add, edit, and delete users to your practice

  • Update client access for non-admin users

  • Control tax return access (available with Tax Suite only)

  • Control MFA settings

  • Send manual password reset links to your team

Keeper Accruals tab

  • Control accruals access (Super admins have access by default)

  • Control edit schedule access

Keeper Emails tab

  • Disable email caching

  • Control personal inbox permissions

  • Remove personal inbox connections

  • Control practice inbox access

  • Control user access to clients' Email History tab


Client Portal

Reminders tab

Here you can configure how often your clients receive notifications when you have Automated Reminders enabled. Add up to 2 automated reminders.

πŸ’‘ The Starts on date will always be the date of the next scheduled reminder.

πŸ’‘ This references the cadence of automated reminder notifications (for both text and email reminders).

  • Show client uploads inbox

  • Turn on client login page announcement (viewable before signing in)

  • Turn on client portal announcement (viewable after sign in)

Notifications tab

  • Hide client's answer in email

    Normally, client question notifications include the client answer within the email.

Branding tab

Customize

  • Choose your default client login option

Practice emails

  • Choose your default practice email

  • Enable a fallback email sender

Practice phone number

  • View the number all texted reminders will come from when sent from Keeper

  • Enable 2FA for the portal

Enabling this setting will allow you to enforce 2FA on the Client Portals on a per-contact basis.

  • Option to show archived clients on the client list

  • Review actively archived clients


Activity Log

Every time a task is created, updated, or deleted, the change will be automatically recorded in the Activity Log. This ensures greater transparency and accountability, making it easier for admins to monitor task progress and modifications.

Billing

The Billing tab is only accessible to Super Admin users. This tab grants users access to the billing portal.
